Dimitris
Tsouris was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. His main body of work centres upon
very modern icons akin to the traditional Orthodox church icons. His
loved medium is that as used by colour lithographic printers -
lithographic ink. As this medium is thixotropic, rather like a jell,
Dimitris can only use his hands and cloth to execute his paintings.
Over the years Dimitris has had a touring programme in England -
‘Contemporary Ikonography’ exhibiting in many cathedrals and abbeys
including Exeter, Wells, Worcester, Bristol, Birmingham, Hereford,
Truro, Southwell Minister, Tewksbury Abbey plus art centres and
galleries and festivals including Greece, Italy, Holland.
He
is a teacher of history of art and other arts related issues at
Christian Artists Seminar and The European Academy of Art and Culture,
Holland..
