Tony Kountouris was born in Thessalonica, Greece. He studied Cartoon Animation at the IFAJI, in Paris and received his diploma in 1977. For a period of time he practiced graphic design and started a huge comic panorama-parody of the history of Cyprus. For the last four years, he has been engaged in hagiography, which seriously drew his attention with its endless depth. He studied hagiography at different Thessalonica masters, at the Holy Mountain of Athos and Stavrovouni in Cyprus. He has taken part in three successful group exhibitions. He represented Cyprus in the event "Cyprus Meets South Africa" which occurred on February 23 until March 3, 1998, in Johannesburg.
