Siddiqua Shahnawaz, is
a professional artist who has lived and studied Art in Cyprus, India and
the US. Articles about her and her interviews have been published in
various newspapers like the Post Bulletin and the Star News. Siddiqua is
the director of "Zeba
Art Galleries", an International art gallery with branches in Minneapolis,
USA and Bangalore, India. Her style of painting has evolved over the
years from realism to abstract.
Siddiqua was
the team leader of a group project involved in creating paintings
representing architectural wonders from different parts of the World.
The finished project was displayed during the "World Festival" in April
2001. This collection is still on display at the Civic Centre
Library of Rochester, Minnesota.
Siddiqua, designed and created
traditional ethnic artwork for the RIA fundraising Book Fair on the 10th November 2001, at the Barnes & Noble bookstore.
She has also served, as Vice President, the Rochester International
Association (2001) and in the advisory board
of the RIA (2002). She was also guest speaker at Lourdes high school, Rochester
and judge at the ICAR art competition.
Siddiqua Shahnawaz has participate in many art exhibitions in the USA,
Europe and India and she has awarded with several prizes and trophies.
Among them are the following: Best writer, Arts category, Victory
Newsmagazine, 2004 and 2003. Valedictorian and Gold Medal AISC, Cyprus,
1995. Ralph Waldo Emerson Award, Cyprus, 1995. Member of National Honors
Society, 1994 and 1995.
