Sotiris Panailidis

Sotiris Panailidis born in Katerini, Greece on 20 December 1973. In 1991 he graduated from Katerini Lyceum with specialization in Applied Arts. In 1992, being the best student of Pieria County, he secured a scholarship to attended special courses in Graphics and Applied Arts in Thessaloniki. In 1992 he went to Athos, where he attended courses in iconography for two years under the mentorships of father Arsenius (kellion St. Nicholas Burazery) and father Kallistos Polatidis (kellion Saint Metrophanous Kaspala). In 2003 he graduated from the School of Byzantine Iconography at the Cultural Centre of Serres and Nigritis Metropolis. Sotiris took place in many art exhibitions in Greece and the Balkans and he has done icon paintings in many Greek orthodox churches. He worked as iconography teacher in a school in Katerini for two years (1999-2001) and since 1996 he is a professor of iconography at the Cultural Centre of Metropolis of Katerini and Platamona.
