Born in 1947 in South Africa to Cypriot parents he now lives and works in Pretoria, South Africa. A self-taught graphic designer, photographer and painter, Nikos has for the past 40 years run a design and advertising studio specialising in graphic design, exhibition design and photography. He has produced many multi-image shows and has won awards for his exhibition designs in Paris, London, Dubai and South Africa. He also teaches traditional and digital graphic design. So inspired was he after a visit to Greece and Cyprus (birthplace of his parents) that he started painting - hoping to capture a little of the magic that he had experienced on canvas. Today his paintings reflect the Greek themes of his experiences. His passion for painting has produced majestic images in the golds and blues of the Greek islands that he loves so much. His paintings of stylised Greek churches are much in demand while his special interests lie in the icons and images of the Byzantine Period in both the Greek and Russian styles. His work has been exhibited at four art exhibitions at the prestigious State Theatre Art Gallery in Pretoria, South Africa. Nikos also studies and plays classical piano and enjoys the theatre.
