Raj
Kumar
born and raised in India. He is a self educated artist. Raj was not
certain about his talent till he became 21 years old. After he has discovered
his talent, he started taking interest with zeal. At the beginning he
was not so good but he has never gave up as he had fallen in love with his
art. Raj learned from his mistakes and how to create
realistic works. During that period he discovered his own techniques.
Raj says: "Very often
ask me from where I have taken my training. The answer is from nowhere. I
am completely self taught. I draw mainly portraits, animals,
landscapes, temples from original photos of good quality and high
definition. Some years ago I stopped drawing and left this
profession as I was not sure that I was able to do it well in this field
but my wife didn’t let me to leave it. She encouraged me
a lot. So once again my humble expectation was exceeded as I got big
orders from clients to make their portraits. I started to achieve
confident when a couple of my drawings sold. I hope to continue
growing as an artist, while expanding my reach to create portraits for
those who find and enjoy my work. I have never been in Cyprus but it’s
my heartiest wish to open an art gallery in this country. I indeed
admire Cyprus artists. Philippos Yiapanis is my favourite
bronze & marble sculpture artist. I also like the work of Nikolaos Kotziamanis
and several other Cypriot artists."
