Cyprus Art Gallery

Kate Masalova was born in Russia in 1983. Kate studied art in Australia and currently resides in Cyprus. She has held numerous exhibitions and her works are in private and corporate collections in Cyprus, UK, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Australia and Russia. Her abstract-expressionist works are very reminiscent of Jackson Pollock’s bold drips of colour, only in her case these drips are there to form not only abstract patterns, but rather a well-organised hyperrealist environment. Kate’s works are published in Art Buzz the book. In 2007, Kate opened an international art gallery in Limassol, called "Silks Gallery", a trendy art gallery situated in a modern complex in Potamos Yermasoyias. The concept of the gallery is to promote well established artists, as well as the up and coming talents from around the world. The gallery sponsors and organises the annual "Young Artists Awards" visual arts competition, open to all artists 16-35 years of age, where a total of 3000 Euros are awarded to the top three winners with a portion of the sales proceeds going to charities.
