Karina Gerbst born  in Russia (Kirov) in 1979 in a family of military doctors. She was brought up and educated to become a doctor as well, but decided to step on the way of education as well as her elder sister Irina. In 2001 Karina has awarded her Masters Degree in Roman Linguistics and BD on psychology in the State Teachers Training University. Though she has not not being taught photography, Karina has always felt a deep love and attraction to photographic art, and she was taking photos since the age of 16, first with a simple film camera and lately with a digital one.

Last years, the hobby turned into obsession, which made her spend most of her free time learning, experimenting, observing and recording the images over her camera. At the moment Karina is busy with a few projects including the “Streets of Cyprus” series and organising a studio for children’s photography. Karina is happy to share her work with Cypriot art lovers and she thanks CyprusArtGallery.com for presenting a sample of her art work. Since June 2005, Karina lives and works in Larnaca, Cyprus, she is married and she has a wonderful four-year-old son, Georg.
