Petros Karavias was born in Kalavasos, Cyprus on 12 August, 1949. He studied Chemistry in Greifswald, Germany from 1968 to 1973 and he is a holder of M.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry. Petros is currently the Manager of a leading, Nicosia based, Paints Factory. He is also President of the Board of a Banking unit, The Agrantzia Co-operative Society. He is also member in several, non profit, social bodies and councils.

Petros Karavias, has followed lessons and seminars of artistic photography in Germany, Cyprus and other countries. He is married to Rena and he has two daughters, Marina and Kakia, also holders of M.Sc. in Chemistry and a son, Andreas, who is a holder of Ph.D. FRM in Quantitative Finance and Economics.
